This is the first version of my mini-mod.

Zandmod will expand in the future, as my modding skills hopefully grow, but for now I hope this is playable and enjoyable.

(See the forum discussion thread for more details).

IMPORTANT NOTE:
* Please download the quickfix from this page (just a item_kinds1.text file and a troops.txt file) to fix some erroneous damage types on a few weapons, a Swadian Heavy Crossbowman with no crossbow and a Swadian Master Knight with no horse.
* A few other unfixed issues exist, but shouldn't be big ones:
Other types of food than normal (like spice and grain) LOOK like they are consumable now, but they aren't yet. Trying to fix that.

[rule] Features[rule]
  • Included nearly all the "dormant" items in M&B through ItemEditor and made almost all of them merchandise.
  • Tweaked weapons to act in a more complex way: You can stab with an axe, e.g., only it will merely do a little bit of blunt damage.
  • Used the new items to create factions and troop types with clearer color codes. This would reduce confusion in the battle field.
  • Expanded the troop trees of virtually every faction there is, thanks to the Troop Editor. The five factions will have about 15 different troop types each (some a lot more powerful), some others, like Bandits, a little fewer.
  • Included quite a lot of MageLord's tweaks - the ones I like. See forum for full details.
  • Modified the unit names, to give a sense of uniqueness to each faction - hopefully without confusing people as to what the units do and how high they are in the hierarchy.
